Castelo do Bode Nautical Station

The Castelo do Bode reservoir, covering 33 km², encompasses a considerable part of the Zêzere River basin, which extends for 60 km (30% of the total length of the Zêzere River). It includes the municipalities of Sertã, Vila de Rei, Ferreira do Zêzere, Sardoal, and Abrantes and Tomar to the south, within the Médio Tejo region.

The immensity and impressiveness of the reservoir, combined with the undeniable scenic beauty of its natural surroundings—where mountain ranges populated with maritime pines, eucalyptus, heather, and broom are carved by the winding river along the valleys—make it one of the most important identifying elements of the Médio Tejo region, and one of the most iconic images associated with the perception many have of the central interior of the country.

The Castelo do Bode Nautical Station (ENCB) is a driving force behind activities related to the Castelo do Bode reservoir, developing a network of activities that integrate three basic elements: the reservoir, nature, and the landscape.

The ENCB is a network offering high-quality nautical tourism, organized around the integrated enhancement of nautical resources present in a territory. This includes accommodation, restaurants, nautical activities, and other relevant services to attract tourists and other users, adding value and creating diverse and integrated experiences. The ENCB already has more than 70 partners.
