Hero Background

Litoral de Cascais Nautical Station

The Cascais Coastal Nautical Station (ENLC) is a network of partners linked to the provision of services in the area of nautical tourism, organized from the integrated enhancement of the nautical resources present in the Cascais territory. Cascais has long established itself, thanks to its geographical characteristics, as a nautical destination and leisure capital in Portugal, even achieving prominence in the promotion of nautical sports, particularly sailing.

The ENLC is composed of a group of local and regional entities directly linked to the municipality, involving local administrations, tourism entities, nautical clubs, marinas and/or recreational ports, maritime tourism operators, and, in a broader future, the program will be extended to hotels and restaurants, among others, which, properly organized in a network, follow an action protocol validated by all. One of the main objectives foreseen for the ENLC (National Strategy for Coastal Development) is to contribute to the promotion of blue growth, that is, to the economic development of the coast, to combat seasonality and to diversify the tourism offer.

We present you with sufficient reasons to come and visit us. Although it may seem that we have returned to the age of "whys," these arguments are unquestionable.

  • It has a 30-kilometer coastline, which combines wild beaches with more urban ones.
  • It combines the blue of the Atlantic Ocean with the green of the Sintra Mountains in a unique landscape that continues to deserve to be immortalized on a postcard.
  • Here it is sunny most of the year, which is not only for swimming in the sea, but also for great walks outdoors.
  • It maintains a fishing activity based on ancestral roots, which brings the highest quality fish and seafood to the village's restaurants every day.
  • Because it has seven golf courses, each with a green designed by a different architect, but all with beautiful surroundings.
  • It preserves the charm of bygone times, when it was the summer destination of the Portuguese Royal Family.
  • It welcomes both children seeking more active programs and adults seeking rest.
  • The sea is a playground, even for adults, allowing boat trips and various board sports.
  • Strolling through the streets of Cascais is like taking a journey through the history of kings and spies from the second half of the 20th century.
  • The word "esplanade" is almost a nickname for the village's restaurants, and having lunch or dinner on the street is a certainty for those who visit.
  • Art and culture are present in various parts of Cascais, but especially in the Museum Quarter, with 16 places to visit.
  • Peace and quiet are one of Cascais' defining characteristics, thanks not only to its many spas, but also to the tranquility of daily life for those who live here.
  • You are 20 minutes from Lisbon, an increasingly frenetic city, and another 20 minutes from Sintra, an enigmatic mountain range with castles and palaces to explore, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

And finally, because

the weeks of the calendar are always packed with music, gastronomy, culture or sporting events, and what matters is going out.
