The Ovar Nautical Station is a network offering nautical tourism, centered on three main natural resources: the Esmoriz Lagoon, the sea, and the Aveiro Lagoon.
The enhancement of the existing network and resources is complemented by the integration of accommodation, nautical activities, and other services that are relevant for attracting and retaining tourists and increasing the number of users.
Ovar is a territory blessed by nature with landscapes sculpted by the lagoon, the sea, and the forest.
With an excellent geostrategic location, this territory offers fascinating and challenging waterways, notably in the Aveiro Lagoon and the Esmoriz Lagoon. The beaches are exceptional and have been awarded the Blue Flag. The forest area is extensive and integrates a rich and distinct biodiversity, where the Buçaquinho Environmental Park is a benchmark of excellence. Ovar is a privileged destination for those seeking natural beauty, the pleasure of outdoor physical activity and sports, and the experiences that nautical activities offer, in an integrated and high-quality way!
There are 60 km of cycle paths, 7.5 km of walkways and many more hiking trails that allow you to discover small ecosystems, native flora and fauna, and breathtaking landscapes. There is surfing, sailing, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding to practice, compete or try. There are Arte Xávega companies to see and relive the beauty and challenges of this traditional and artisanal fishing method.
The municipality of Ovar is also blessed by the brilliance and originality of its tiles; by the dynamism of its communities, translated into popular festivals, ethnographic demonstrations and unique religious manifestations. Culture is a differentiating and competitive factor in this territory, where museum spaces, events and people genuinely welcome and live intensely.
