Hero Background

Pedrógão Grande Nautical Station

The municipality of Pedrógão Grande is located in the northern interior pine forest area, known for being one of the largest forest areas in Europe, belonging to the Leiria District in the central region of Portugal.

It is a region with a rich natural heritage, known for its stunning landscapes and popular traditions combined with the purity of the air and water bodies that characterize it. The passage of the Zêzere River, the Ribeira de Pêra and the Ribeira de Frades, which originates and flows into the municipality, provides a diversity of recreational and nautical activities for those who live in and visit the region.

When visiting the territory, it is possible to observe timeless vestiges of the various phases of Portuguese history. We can visit the Ceramic Kiln, which dates back to the 12th century during Roman rule, the Philippine Bridge, built in the 17th century during the Philippine dynasty, and the Parish Church built in 1470.

Visitors to Pedrógão Grande can swim in the floating pool of the Cabril Reservoir, at the Mosteiro River Beach or the Mega River Beach, enjoy the network of trails and mountain bike paths that run along the water, and sample the typical dishes of the region that enrich our gastronomy.

The Pedrógão Grande Nautical Station (ENPG) aims to showcase its territory, which boasts a unique cultural and natural heritage in Portugal.

The ENPG's objective is to promote and enhance the nautical spaces and offerings of our territory.

Our network of partners enhances the tourism offering by promoting gastronomic spaces, accommodation, tour operators that boost nautical activities and other services relevant to attracting tourists, as well as publicizing nautical and cultural events that take place in the territory.

Considering that the Municipality of Pedrógão Grande is the promoting entity of the Nautical Station, certified by Fórum Oceano, will promote the satisfaction of demand for a niche market of national and international scope. With this particularity, it will promote activities throughout the year linked to the way of life of its people, avoiding seasonality, and projecting the municipality internationally.
