The Faro Surf Club carries out its activities on Faro Beach, located in the central Algarve region, on the south coast of Portugal, 3km from Faro Airport.
Situated in the Ria Formosa area, an extensive lagoon complex with a dune system separating the inland waters from the Atlantic waters, this beach faces southwest. Exposed to waves that predominantly come from the southwest or east, it has a long stretch of sand that, at low tide, reveals excellent conditions for surfing.
The mobility of the sand on this beach means that there are constantly several locations with good wave formation, allowing for the choice of different conditions according to the style and level of each surfer. The eastern part of the beach, with side or side-offshore winds combined with Levante winds, results in perfect wave formation.
