Ghost Diving Foundation is a registered charity run by technical divers specializing in the removal of fishing gear and other marine debris since 2009. Its aim is to raise public awareness of the phenomenon of ghost fishing through key international partners, unique results, and breathtaking underwater images.
It is the largest and most experienced non-governmental, non-profit diving organization focused on the phenomenon of "ghost fishing," with a track record in a wide variety of countries and international waters.
It is composed exclusively of volunteers who promote independent projects or with the help of known or unknown environmental organizations focused on innovation and nature conservation.
Based in the Netherlands, the concept has inspired many others and spread to 16 countries where local diving teams also identify with the project's objectives.
