School Sports - Mafra Nautical Sports Training Center

The Sports Training Center operates in 4 areas:

• One-off introductory activities
• Regular advanced/specialized activities
• Training/certification of specialist teachers and students
• Support for curricular projects and sports internships (school breaks) Sports offered: SURF, SUP, BODYBOARD Through the “Safe Ocean” project, the Mafra Nautical Sports Training Center is running surfing sessions for children and young people from various school groups in the municipality.

This initiative aims to raise students' awareness of environmental issues and ocean protection through introductory surfing lessons in a territory that is part of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve.

Approximately 102 students from the Artur Patrocínio Basic School (Azueira), the Malveira Basic School, and the São Silvestre do Gradil Basic School have already participated in this project, in addition to 9 students from the Learning Support Center of the José Saramago Secondary School – Mafra, accompanied by 12 teachers and 10 educational support staff.
