The Vila do Conde Kayak Club was founded on December 7, 1982. It is an amateur sports association dedicated to the practice of canoeing, both recreationally and competitively, both nationally and internationally. Among other achievements, it was the National Club Champion in 1983 and 1984.
Despite being very young, VCKayakC is the fourth oldest active club nationally. It is recognized as a training club, having produced many great names in the sport.
The high point in its history is undoubtedly its participation in the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, through its athlete José Garcia, who finished 6th in the K1 - 1000 meters Olympic Final.
Currently, the Vila do Conde Kayak Club's strength lies in its training programs, which have around sixty athletes. It was in these classes that the club recently achieved several individual national championship titles, namely, national long-distance champion, national junior champion, and national sprint champion.
In addition to training and competition, the club also seeks to provide the experience and practice of canoeing to all those who contact us by organizing activities, whether outings or river trips, always accompanied and guided by the club's instructors. We offer the following activities:
